How To Shop In The Big Stores
Posted by Frank Lee on August 21st, 2010
Shopping for what we need is an American pastime. It has become an adventure rather than just something we must do to get what we need for our sustenance. There are small shops that we visit for specific items and large stores that carry everything that we can possibly imagine. When you want that particular bottle of wine, or that special chocolate, you visit the specialty shop because you know what you are looking for and you know where to find it. Other purchases, like groceries, clothes, toys, or bulk items, are found in the big stores. Once in these huge arenas, if you are not careful, you will be persuaded to buy many more products than you desire. Lifestyle Maintenance
Posted by Dr. Richard F Marsella on August 12th, 2010
More and more scientists are realizing that to keep people healthy, a lifestyle approach is necessary. Pills and dietary pyramids and other half-measures promoted by well meaning practitioners can’t do the job of keeping us healthy. Only a lifestyle approach (including all that we do in a day) can promote health. A general overview of the elements of a good lifestyle must include, among other things, proper nutrition, physical exercise, and stress management. With these three elements, we can construct a healthy lifestyle that will lead us to attain our best in all we do. Proper nutrition must produce a lean, energetic body. Physical exercise – at least an hour per day – must lead to strong muscles and bones. Stress management must be effective in its ability to handle the many stresses that our society heaps upon us daily. Once we obtain these three abilities, we must hone them into effective habits that enhance our lives. Maintenance of these habits is our daily chore to keep our lives happy and effective. Here are a few ways to enhance the three main elements.

Children’s Health Food
Posted by Dr. Richard F Marsella on August 9th, 2010
Children are the future of our Nation. That is to say, we must at some point realize that the upcoming generations are tomorrow’s citizens. When our generation grows gray, our children must take the responsibility for our country’s continuance as a healthy, vibrant Nation. That said; we must take steps now to see to it that our children are up to the task. What we need are healthy citizens that adhere to good habits in keeping themselves strong and fit. As the Boy Scouts used to say: “stay physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight”. One of the problems facing us today is the poor quality of our food and the poor eating habits that have emerged over the past few generations. It is vitally necessary that we get back to proper eating habits that will foster good health if we expect our children to prosper. Here are a few suggestions to get the kids back on the road to health and to better habits.
