Eat Yogurt, Save Money

Instead of eating snack foods that contain too much sugar and/or fat, try eating plain, no fat yogurt. Add some of your own fruit for taste if desired. However, the yogurt itself is not the only good reason to buy this product. All yogurts come packaged in nice, neat containers (some with reusable lids) that can be used for a variety of things around the house.

The Basics Of Saving

There’s an old saying that states: “Use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without”. Actually, this is the best advice ever for a standard way to live in any economy, good or bad.

Save A House With Maintenance

One of the most expensive things that most of us own is the house in which we live. Taking good care of our abode is wise – it is too expensive to replace.

Save Money At The Thrift Store

Everybody likes to save money when they purchase what they want or need. In this economic slump that we find ourselves in the need to save money on our purchases is even more present. In this society there is so much wealth that all of us possess that we can all benefit by attending to opportunities that are all around us.

Saving Money With Garbage

When you want to save more money, think of the small things. In the kitchen, for example, consider the ever-present garbage container. Every kitchen must have a place to put the food scraps, and packaging, that all of us must provide a place. Most people use garbage bags that are placed in a sturdy (usually plastic) garbage container.

Do It Yourself To Save Money

We can all save time and money by doing things ourselves. A dollar saved is a dollar earned. If we can do some things for ourselves, then we can save money. When you put your mind to it, there are many services that the average person can do for themselves that are easy and money saving. Here are two examples that we all should be made aware.

Pennies Save Dollars

We are all aware of the old saying: “A stitch in time saves nine”. It is the same with money. If you take care of the pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves. Well, we hope so. In this lousy economy, with so many people out of work, it is even more important to take care of the little things. We may not have too many dollars; it may be that we only have a few pennies, so we had better take care of what we have.

Free Family Fun On The Water

When it is time to take out the family for the weekend (or just for the afternoon) consider boating and water sports as a great alternative to sitting in front of the television set. Fresh air, sunshine, and a relaxing day are almost always available at the beaches and bays of any coastal town. If you own a boat, good, but if you need to rent something for the day, there are plenty of businesses that specialize in the rental of everything from small paddle wheel boats and canoes to fifty-foot long sailboats and power craft.

Save Energy With Sail

For you folks that are into boating here’s an old idea that can save energy. Way back in the early days of boating, after man learned how to propel his boat with the oar, wind power was harnessed through the use of sails. Imagine the savings in the cost of gasoline or diesel fuel if a boat were to cross the ocean using wind power and not fossil fuel. You could go anywhere on the surface of the world’s oceans without spending a penny on fuel. Of course, not many of us want to cross oceans, but we can still utilize the sail to save fuel.

Don’t Miss Retirement

Most of us work very diligently for most of our lives so that we can retire at a reasonable age. We look forward to sitting in the lap of luxury, no money problems, everything in order, vacations and other distractions whenever we wish. Other folks dream of world tours, exotic trips, even second careers. While all of this sounds enticing, we must never lose sight of the fact that we must, at some time, actually take retirement. It may sound silly to say that some of us will never take retirement, but it can happen all too easily. The culprit is us.
