Save Time and Money by Not Overbuying

It is always a good idea to keep plenty of items that you use on hand. Buying in bulk is sometimes a great way to save money. Some items, however, do not fit very well into the buying in bulk plan. For example, milk might be on sale this week and your family uses milk everyday. You are tempted to buy extra milk so that you can take advantage of the sale and save some money. Unfortunately, you cannot buy too much because it will spoil and you will find that you actually spent more money than you should have. If, on the other hand, you see a sale on toilet tissue, it would be a great idea to stock up on as much tissue as you can store in your house. This item will keep forever if it is kept cool and dry. On the other hand, if you store toilet tissue in a basement or other damp area, it can get ruined in a short time and you will have overspent at the grocery store. Sometimes there is a good sale on bread. If you buy extra loaves of bread you will probably have to throw away much of it because (in a hot climate) the bread will get ruined by mold. You can freeze sealed loaves of bread and keep them in the freezer for extended periods but it has to be done carefully. If you don’t keep the bread at the right temperature, you could end up just wasting your freezer space on moldy bread. Be careful about what you buy in bulk. Think before you take advantage of that sale. If the item is at all perishable, don’t buy in bulk; if the item is indestructible, go ahead and buy all you can store at home.
